The Okemah Round Up Club (RUC) was founded in the 1930's and housed at the Pecan Bowl. Sometime in the 1950's the RUC moved to its current location. The original clubhouse was replaced with a log building in the 1980's. A metal roof was recently put on the building. The Club is located between the swimming pool and Okemah High School.

The Round Up Club holds two rodeos throughout the year. Pioneer Day rodeo is held on the Saturday of Pioneer Days, which is celebrated by the entire town. Anther rodeo is held in August. The club sponsors several playdays throughout the year. The Okemah Indian community also hosts a rodeo at the arena.

The RUC also hosts campers for the Woody Guthrie Festival in July every year. Campers enjoy the festivities in town and then retire to the camping area in the arena. The rustic camping area includes restrooms and showers built by our local National Guard unit.

Becoming a member of the Round Up Club is easy and advantageous. Some benefits to members include but are not limited to, exclusive access to the arena and facilities, voting rights at all meetings and the right to participate in all club activities. The rodeo arena is open to members for their personal use. Members can use the facilities at any time as long as there is no other event scheduled. Members can host events such as roping, barrel racing, and bull riding competitions. Membership is $10 per family per year.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. at the arena. Meetings usually consist of any old business and any new business. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. Suggestions are always welcome and new ideas are always fun.
